Tim Cook Is Betting on Nike π
Itβs been an awful start to 2026 for Nike $NKE ( β² 3.09% ) investors, but the stock got a nice 2.19% boost in after-hours trading on Tuesday thanks to some insider buying.
Details: Nike CEO Elliott Hill disclosed the purchase of 23,660 shares of Nike stock. Meanwhile, Apple $AAPL ( β² 2.16% ) CEO and Nike director Tim Cook also disclosed that he bought 25,000 shares.
Background: The stock purchases come amid a rough year. Despite reporting good financial results a few weeks ago, Nikeβs stock continued to tumble due to a weak outlook. The company expects revenue to decline in the current quarter.
Early Birdβs Nest Egg Gains: Tim Cook and Elliott Hill buying shares does matter because insiders usually buy when they believe the stock is undervalued or the business is improving.Β
That said, it is not proof that Nike is finally on the right track.
Final Thoughts: Shares of Nike are down nearly 20% in the past 30 days.

Each environment is unique, but after dot-com, post war and contemporary art grew about 24% annually for a decade. After 2008, about 11% for 12 years.
Itβs also had near-zero correlation with the S&P 500 since β95.*
