Palantir's "AI Leverage" Ignored 🤔
Despite posting good financial results on Monday and bragging about its ability “to compound AI leverage,” Palantir $PLTR ( ▲ 3.35% ) fell 4.26% in after-hours trading.
Financials: Palantir reported earnings of 21 cents per share in the past quarter and revenue of $1.18 billion. Both were better than expected.
Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: The main reasons for the after-hours decline appear to be the premium valuation of the stock, which already priced in high growth expectations, and some investor concerns regarding potential impacts from the ongoing U.S. government shutdown, which could affect government contracts.
Final Thoughts: Palantir’s stock was up 175% this year. It has a price-to-earnings ratio of over 600, which means it is not a value stock.
