Dell’s Enterprise PC Sales 💻
Although Dell $DELL ( â–˛ 1.17% ) posted better-than-expected financial earnings results on Thursday, the technology company fell 5.26% in after-hours trading.
Financials: Dell reported earnings of $2.32 per share and revenue of $29.8 billion in the past quarter. Both were better than expected.
Powering the Story: Revenue for Dell’s Client Solutions Group, which is responsible for the enterprise PC sales, went up just 1% in the past quarter. This was lower than expected.
Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: While enterprise PC sales provide stability, they create challenges for Dell due to margin pressure, delayed refresh cycles, unpredictable demand, and limited growth compared to AI infrastructure. This makes them a less attractive area than rapidly expanding segments, such as AI servers and services.
Final Thoughts: Investors were also concerned on Thursday that Dell’s financial outlook for the current quarter was lower than expected.
