Despite posting disappointing financial earnings results on Tuesday, shares of Oracle $ORCL ( â–˛ 1.27% ) skyrocketed 28.35% in after-hours trading.

Financials: Oracle reported earnings of $1.47 per share in the past quarter and revenue of $14.9 billion. Both were lower than expected.

Powering the Story: Investors were excited to hear that cloud infrastructure revenue jumped 55%, and the company’s remaining performance obligations were up 359% (wow!).

GameStop $GME ( â–˛ 1.59% ) jumped 5.72% in after-hours trading on Tuesday after posting good financial earnings results.

Financials: GameStop reported earnings of 25 cents per share in the past quarter and revenue of $972.2 million. Both were better than expected.

Powering the Story: The company also announced on Tuesday that it is offering a special dividend to be distributed in the form of warrants.

  • GameStop will offer one warrant for every ten shares of common stock held. Each warrant allows the holder to buy one share of common stock (under the ticker GME WS) at an exercise price of $32.00 until their expiration on October 30, 2026.

Final Thoughts: GameStop, down 23% this year, is trying to turn things around.

Synopsys Sees “Challenging Geo-Political Backdrop”

The electronic design automation company Synopsys $SNPS ( â–Ľ 0.77% ) plunged 19.26% in after-hours trading on Tuesday after posting bad financial earnings results.

Financials: Synopsys reported earnings of $3.39 per share in the past quarter and revenue of $1.74 billion. Both were lower than expected.

Final Thoughts: The company said it experienced “a challenging geo-political backdrop” in the quarter.
