Netflix Ends Warner Bros Deal
Netflix $NFLX ( ▲ 8.48% ) jumped 8.49% in after-hours trading on Thursday after the streaming giant ended its previous deal to buy Warner Bros Discovery $WBD ( ▼ 2.1% ).
Details: Netflix declined to raise its offer after Warner Bros. determined that Paramount Skydance's $PSKY ( ▲ 3.58% ) latest offer was a “Superior Proposal.”
Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: It’s good for Netflix investors because walking away avoids overpaying, protects the balance sheet, and keeps the focus on Netflix’s high‑return core streaming business instead of a risky mega‑acquisition integration.
Final Thoughts: In after-hours trading, Warner Bros Discovery fell 1.74% while Paramount Skydance jumped 6.17%.
