Netflix Breaks Subscriber Records
Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) smashed subscriber records and posted good financial earnings results on Tuesday, causing the stock to surge by 14.39% in after-hours trading.
Financials: Netflix reported earnings of $4.27 per share in the past quarter and revenue of $10.24 billion; both were better than expected.
Powering the Story: The streaming giant added a record 18.91 million new subscribers in the quarter. Netflix now has over 300 million paid subscribers.
Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: Netflix grew its subscriber base by cracking down on password sharing, introducing cheaper ad-supported tiers, pumping out more original content, and expanding into live events such as sports.

Financials: CapitalOne reported earnings of $3.09 per share in the past quarter, which was better than expected. But revenue was just $10.2 billion, which was lower than expected.
