The outstanding year for Intel $INTC ( ▲ 2.31% ) continued on Thursday, with strong earnings results sending the stock up 19.95% in after-hours trading.

Financials: Intel reported earnings of 29 cents per share in the past quarter and revenue of $13.6 billion. Both were better than expected.

Outlook: Intel expects revenue of $13.8 billion to $14.8 billion in the current quarter, with earnings per share of 8 cents. It’s a projection that was also better than anticipated.

Quote: “The next wave of AI will bring intelligence closer to the end user, moving from foundational models to inference to agentic. This shift is significantly increasing the need for Intel’s CPUs and wafer and advanced packaging offerings.” - CEO Lip-Bu Tan.

Background: Intel’s stock struggled between 2021 and 2024, but has since recovered with a 200% gain thanks to AI traction.

Casino entertainment company Boyd Gaming $BYD ( ▲ 3.48% ) fell 6.06% in after-hours trading on Thursday after posting bad financial earnings results.

Financials: Boyd Gaming reported earnings of $1.60 per share in the past quarter and revenue of $997.4 million. Both were lower than expected.

Final Thoughts: It’s a setback for Boyd Gaming, which had been up 3.43% this year. Most of that 2026 gain came in the last 30 days.
