In what could be one of the most surprising corporate headlines of 2026, GameStop $GME ( ▲ 6.33% ) is reportedly interested in buying eBay $EBAY ( ▲ 0.57% ).
Details: The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday that GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen is making an unsolicited offer to buy eBay for about $56 billion. The offer is for $125 per share, a 20% premium to eBay’s closing price on Friday.
No official offer has been submitted as of now. The offer could be made later this month.
