Is Ford's Turnaround Real? 🔧
After posting mixed financial earnings results on Tuesday, The Ford Motor Company $F ( ▲ 1.91% ) jumped 5.41% in after-hours trading because the company boosted its outlook.
Financials: Ford reported earnings of 66 cents per share in the past quarter, which were better than expected. But revenue was $48.3 billion, which was lower than expected.
Powering the Story: The company now expects full-year earnings to be between $10 billion and $11 billion, an improvement from the previous outlook.
Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: Ford’s turnaround is partially real. The core businesses are now printing solid profits with improved discipline and guidance, but the EV reset is still an issue.

Visa's Layoffs Haunt Stock
Despite posting good financial earnings results on Tuesday, Visa $V ( ▲ 1.12% ) fell 1.15% in after-hours trading after an earlier report confirmed that 7% of Visa’s workforce will be laid off.
Financials: Visa reported earnings of $3.32 per share in the past quarter and revenue of $11.6 billion. Both were better than expected.
Final Thoughts: The stock was up about 7% over the last month.
Avis Posts Bad Results
Avis Budget Group $CAR ( ▲ 1.61% ) plunged 13.04% in after-hours trading on Tuesday after posting bad financial earnings results.
Financials: Avis Budget reported earnings of 98 cents per share in the past quarter and revenue of $3 billion. Both were lower than expected.
Final Thoughts: It’s been an odd year for the stock. It’s up 29.71%; however, it is down 76% since April 21.
