Ethereum's Gas Fee Comeback

The price of Ethereum $ETH.X ( ▲ 8.74% ) jumped about 8% on Sunday as the second-most popular cryptocurrency aims to stage a comeback following a poor October.

Price Background: Ethereum had been surging in the second half of the year, but the crypto market slumped in October. During that month, Ethereum lost about 9% of its value. But it is up about 10% since last week’s election in the United States, as most investors expect a favorable regulatory environment for digital assets.

Powering the Story: The price comeback coincides with lower gas fees. Cointelegraph reported on Sunday that the slowdown in the crypto market resulted in gas fees on the Ethereum layer-1 blockchain dropping to just 0.067 Gwei (the denomination used on the Ethereum network).

Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: Low gas fees are usually positive for the price of Etherem due to increased usage and adoption. However, careful attention should be paid to the network's economic health and incentive structure to ensure sustainable long-term value for investors.

Final Thoughts: Ethereum lost 24% of its value in the first half of the year. So far, it has gained 43% in the second half of 2025.
