Dell's $95B AI Backlog 🖥️
Dell Technologies $DELL ( ▼ 6.8% ) posted powerful financial earnings results on Tuesday thanks to its artificial intelligence server business, sending shares up 8.01% in after-hours trading.
Financials: Dell reported earnings of $7.04 per share in the past quarter and revenue of $47 billion. Both were better than expected.
Powering the Story: The company’s AI server business booked a record $60.9 billion in orders, and recognized a record $16.4 billion in revenue, which is up 100% year-over-year. It ended the quarter with a record $95 billion backlog.
Outlook: Dell also raised its full-year outlook, including in the AI server business. It now projects a 200% increase in AI server revenue for the year.
Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: Dell’s AI server business is operating in an unusually favorable market because customers are spending aggressively on accelerated computing while supply, integration capability, and deployment capacity remain constrained.
