Costco's "Digitally-Enabled" Sales
Costco Wholesale $COST ( 0.0% ) ticked up 1.52% in after-hours trading on Wednesday after posting a favorable September sales report.
Details: Costco said its September sales grew 8% year-over-year to $26.58 billion. This included an 8.5% increase in the international business and a 26.1% jump in digitally-enabled sales.
Powering the Story: This marked the first time Costco changed its Ecommerce comparable sales metric to “digitally-enabled” comparable sales. The term includes all sales done on a digital device, including Costco-Travel.
Also: Sales in the U.S. grew 5.1%, while sales in Canada were up 6.3%.
Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: Costco is experiencing exceptionally high digitally-enabled sales growth in 2025 due to a multi-pronged digital transformation strategy.
Costco’s investments in omnichannel experiences, logistics, member-targeted offers, technology upgrades, and digital partnerships with delivery platforms and payment solutions continue to pay off.
