Bitcoin's Back to January 📈
Bitcoin’s $BTC ( ▲ 1.98% ) price surged about 6% on Monday to $87,000, its highest level since January, signaling a potential comeback for the most popular cryptocurrency.
Recent Developments: Bitcoin is now up over 30% since August 19. While Bitcoin is still down about 1% for the year, it’s in better shape now than it was a few months ago.
Powering the Story: Bitcoin has recently traded as a risk sentiment asset. Recent improvements in the broader economic environment have turned more supportive for risk assets in recent weeks.
Oil prices have fallen for several consecutive days, easing inflation concerns.
Long-term Treasury yields are also ticking down, which tends to reduce financial-condition pressure and improve appetite for higher-risk assets such as crypto.
There’s also increased optimism around the planned U.S.–China meetings this week.
Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: For the price of Bitcoin to keep rising, flows into Bitcoin spot ETFs (exchange-traded funds) need to remain positive.
Conversely, if ETF demand fades and the price slips back below the breakout zone, Monday’s rally would be short-lived.
Final Thoughts: Beyond Bitcoin, most major crypto prices also jumped on Monday.
