AMD's Outlook Doesn't Impress
Despite posting strong financial earnings results on Tuesday, Advanced Micro Devices $AMD ( ▼ 14.42% ) fell 8.10% in after-hours trading.
Financials: AMD reported earnings of $1.53 per share in the past quarter and revenue of $10.3 billion. Both were better than expected.
Powering the Story: The company’s revenue outlook for the current quarter was $9.8 billion, plus or minus $300 million.
Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: Investors disliked the outlook because, even though it was officially above the projections, it was below the much higher “whisper” expectations and implied a slower AI/data‑center ramp than the market had priced in.
Final Thoughts: These results come as AMD’s stock is up 111% in the last 12 months.
