Alphabet's First Red Flag π
Despite posting good financial earnings results on Wednesday, Google parent Alphabet $GOOGL ( βΌ 1.46% ) fell 3.31% in after-hours trading.
Financials: Alphabet reported earnings of $9.11 per share in the past quarter and revenue of $119.8 billion. Both were better than expected.
Powering the Story: Capital expenditures came in at $44.92 billion, causing free cash flow to turn negative for the first time in years at around -$5.8 billion.
Early Birdβs Nest Egg Gains: Negative free cash flow driven by a one-time change in AI capex is acceptable for a long-term investor who believes Alphabet will successfully monetize its infrastructure and regain free cash flow growth.
Final Thoughts: There was a bright spot in the results. Revenue for Google Cloud in the quarter surged 82%.
SpaceX Is Overvalued. Here's the Smarter Play.
At $1.75 trillion, SpaceX is now worth more than Coca-Cola, Disney, and Netflix combined β a company with no public earnings track record and a $135 price tag set by the people selling it to you.
Do the math. To justify that valuation, SpaceX would have to grow into one of the largest companies on Earth before you ever see a profit. History is brutal on day-one IPO buyers who pay that kind of premium. Most are underwater within a year.
There's a smarter way to ride the wave. Our analyst found 3 stocks positioned to ride the SpaceX boom β without the bubble pricing. You get the tickers, entry guidance, price targets, a bonus 4th pick, and a 3-phase buy/sell playbook.
