Shares of Airbnb (Nasdaq: ABNB) jumped 3.63% during after-hours trading on Tuesday after the online lodging marketplace posted positive earnings.

Financials: Airbnb earned 8 cents per share and $1.5 billion in revenue; both were better than expected.

Record Quarter: The company’s EBITDA was $333 million, which was a record fourth quarter for Airbnb. The gross booking value hit $11.3 billion.

Going Long: It was long-term stays that supercharged Airbnb’s revenue. Nearly half of the nights booked in the quarter were for stays of a week or longer. Over 20% of nights booked were for stays of a month or longer.

Glass Half Empty: If there was one negative area it was the nights and experiences segment, which missed estimates.

Outlook: The company expected revenue between $1.41 billion and $1.48 billion, which investors really liked.

Final Thoughts: Fundamentally, Airbnb is strong. However, there is always the looming threat of new regulations against the company.
