Details: The S&P Dow Jones Indices announced that The Trade Desk will join the S&P 500 index effective July 18.

Background: The positive development comes after The Trade Desk’s stock has fallen 35.93% this year. It reached an all-time high in December 2024.
Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: Missed revenue expectations contributed to The Trade Desk’s drop in 2025, but the problems go deeper than that.
The adoption of The Trade Desk’s new AI-powered ad platform, Kokai, was slower than expected.
The digital advertising sector (which The Trade Desk operates in) faced a tougher macroeconomic environment in 2025, with advertisers pulling back on spending amid economic uncertainty.
Final Thoughts: Despite these setbacks, some analysts remain optimistic about The Trade Desk’s long-term prospects, citing its strong financial health and position in the growing programmatic advertising market.
