Marvell's "Strong Growth" Falls
After Marvell Technology (Nasdaq: MRVL) posted good financial earnings results on Wednesday, the semiconductor stock fell 14.85% in after-hours trading.
Financials: Marvell reported earnings of 60 cents per share and revenue of $1.81 billion in the past quarter; both were better than expected.
Powering the Story: The company claimed it continues to see “strong growth” in certain products, but its overall 2025 forecast failed to please investors.
Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: The semiconductor market is facing a two-sided situation in 2025, with AI-optimized data center chips thriving while demand for consumer electronic device chips remains flat or is declining. Proposed tariffs from President Trump are also limiting growth.
Final Thoughts: Bad times continue for Marvell, especially after the stock started 2025 with a 20% decline.
