Too "pricey" or a good time to buy?

Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.B) is having an incredible year. The stock price is up 26.75% in 2024. 

And if that wasn’t enough to make you celebrate the stock, Berkshire Hathaway has also enjoyed an 8% gain in the last 30 days, even as the rest of the market has struggled.

A few days ago, Berkshire Hathaway’s stock hit an all-time high. And let’s not forget the pièce de résistance: the company recently hit a $1 trillion market value, becoming the first U.S. company outside the tech sector to do so. Take that, Silicon Valley!

But not everyone is convinced that now is the time to jump on the bandwagon. This week, an analysis from Barron’s threw a wet blanket on the celebration, suggesting that the stock looks “pricey” after its recent run. According to the article, the company’s impressive performance is largely due to the sectors it’s in, and now might not be the best time to buy.
