Shares of Whirlpool (NYSE: WHR) dropped by 1.03% in after-hours trading on Monday after the company posted mixed financial results.

Financials: Whirlpool reported earnings of $4.21 per share in the past quarter, which was better than expected. But revenue was below estimates at $4.79 billion.

Outlook: The maker of home appliances reaffirmed its full-year earnings guidance. In fact, CEO Marc Bitzer said that Whirlpool is “well-positioned to benefit from housing-driven demand recovery.”

Final Thoughts: Whirlpool is up only 4% this year. The company better hope for a housing demand recovery, because these results represent a setback.

F5 Networks Posts Strong Earnings

Technology company F5 Networks (Nasdaq: FFIV) jumped 10.51% in after-hours trading on Monday after posting good financial results.

Financials: F5 Networks reported earnings of $3.21 per share in the past quarter and revenue of $702 million; both were better than expected.

Final Thoughts: The stock is up 3% this year. These results could be a sign of good things to come for the upcoming tech sector earnings.
