Details: Shenzhen PICEA Robotics Co. and Santrum Hong Kong Co will acquire iRobot, which will no longer be listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
Quote: “Today's announcement marks a pivotal milestone in securing iRobot's long-term future. The transaction will strengthen our financial position and will help deliver continuity for our consumers, customers, and partners.” - CEO Gary Cohen.
Background: Mounting debt, intense competition, and rising costs all contributed to the bankruptcy of iRobot. The stock is down nearly 95% in the last five years.
