Cadence Design Systems $CDNS ( â–² 9.74% ) , the semiconductor and software company, jumped 6.66% in after-hours trading on Monday after posting strong financial earnings results.
Financials: Cadence Design reported earnings of $1.65 per share and revenue of $1.2 billion in the past quarter. Both were better than expected.
Powering the Story: The company said on Monday that it expects to save $140 million in cash tax payments because of the new research and development expenses tax break in the United States.

Whirlpool's Tariff Challenges
Home appliances company Whirlpool $WHR ( â–¼ 13.43% ) plunged 14.00% in after-hours trading on Monday after posting weak financial earnings results.
Financials: Whirlpool reported earnings of $1.34 per share and revenue of $3.7 billion in the past quarter. Both were lower than expected.
Final Thoughts: The company also said it faced challenges as competitors stockpiled Asian imports into the U.S. during the quarter ahead of tariffs.
Sui Drops on Monday
The price of the cryptocurrency Sui $SUI.X ( â–¼ 4.55% ) fell about 8% on Monday due in part to pressure from a stronger U.S. dollar.
