Rebuilding a Forgotten Canadian Copper Belt
Gladiator Metals (TSX-V: GLAD | OTCQB: GDTRF) is exploring a historic high-grade copper district just outside Whitehorse, Yukon, an area that once produced hundreds of millions of pounds of copper before being shut down in the 1980s and largely left untouched.
🔌 Why Copper Matters Again
EVs, renewables, power grids, and AI data centers are all copper-intensive, and global supply has not kept pace with demand growth.
⛏️ A Proven Belt, Revisited
Gladiator controls roughly 35 km of strike across the Whitehorse Copper Belt and is applying modern geophysics and drilling to an area that was never systematically explored with today’s technology.
📊 Early Drill Momentum
Recent drilling at targets like Cowley Park and Cub has intersected thick copper zones near surface, including new blind discoveries generated by modern targeting rather than old workings.
📍 Location Advantage
The projects sit near a real city, with road access, grid power, skilled workforce, and a clear path to ports via Skagway, which is rare for a Canadian copper explorer.
🌍 Why It’s on Watchlists
With copper back in focus and few new districts being discovered, historic belts that were abandoned rather than exhausted are drawing renewed attention.

Onsemi's “Stabilization" Signs
Despite the CEO of ON Semiconductor $ON ( ▲ 3.5% ) saying there are “ increasing signs of stabilization” on Monday, the stock fell 3.22% in after-hours trading due to mixed financial results.
Financials: Onsemi reported earnings of 64 cents per share in the past quarter, which were better than expected. But the revenue of $1.53 billion was lower than expected.
Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: Investors disliked it because the “increasing signs of stabilization” message was paired with weak guidance and compressed margins, which did not justify the stock’s rich valuation and prior run-up.
Final Thoughts: It’s a setback for Onsemi after the stock experienced a 38% jump in the past 12 months.
