Meta's Earnings Are a Huge Deal

Facebook parent Meta Platforms $META ( ▼ 0.98% ) showed its strength on Wednesday, posting good financial earnings results. The stock jumped 5.36% in after-hours trading.

Financials: Meta reported earnings of $6.43 per share and revenue of $42.31 billion in the past quarter. Both were better than expected.

Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: Meta's earnings results were a huge deal. Revenue increased thanks to growth from the advertising business, which expanded the company’s operating margin to 41%. The company also signaled its long-term commitment to building data centers and AI infrastructure.

Final Thoughts: The results helped reverse negative sentiment from Meta’s stock falling in 2025.

Financials: Microsoft reported earnings of $3.46 per share and revenue of $70.1 billion in the past quarter. Both were better than expected.

Final Thoughts: The company’s AI and cloud businesses were strong in the quarter, with cloud revenue jumping 20%.

Qualcomm’s Weak Forecast

Despite posting better-than-expected financial earnings results on Wednesday, Qualcomm $QCOM ( ▲ 1.08% ) fell 5.69% in after-hours trading.

Financials: Qualcomm reported earnings of $2.85 per share and revenue of $11 billion in the past quarter. Both were better than expected.

Final Thoughts: The problem with Qualcomm is that its revenue outlook for the current quarter was lower than expected.
