Apple Poaches Netflix’s Partner

Netflix $NFLX ( ▲ 0.88% ) remains the streaming king, but Apple $AAPL ( ▼ 0.32% ) appears to be making significant moves to enhance its content for the Apple TV+ streaming platform.

Details: Bloomberg reported on Sunday that Apple signed a multi-year agreement with the content studio North Road, which Peter Chernin leads. The deal reportedly gives Apple a first look at new projects developed by Chernin.

Background: North Road has been working with Netflix for the past five years and has produced some of the most popular programs on the platform. It was a good partnership.

Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: Apple’s new partnership with North Road is a bold step to boost its film slate and close the gap with Netflix, but the scale of Netflix’s dominance means Apple TV+ remains a challenger rather than a true rival for the streaming crown.

  • Apple TV+ holds about 8% of the U.S. streaming market, compared to Netflix’s 20%.

  • Apple’s strategy has focused on quality over quantity, consistently earning critical acclaim and awards for its originals.

Final Thoughts: Apple’s stock is down 17.57% this year. Netflix is up 38.87% in 2025.

Background: Elon Musk and Tesla have been publicly discussing and promising a driverless robotaxi service for at least six years.
