Amazon's AI Spending Spree β€‹β€‹πŸ€–

Amazon $AMZN ( β–Ό 5.56% ) plunged 11.20% in after-hours trading on Thursday after the technology giant posted mixed financial earnings results.

Financials: Amazon reported earnings of $1.95 per share in the past quarter, which were lower than expected. Revenue was $213.4 billion, which was better than expected.

Powering the Story: Adding insult to injury was Amazon announcing plans to raise its CapEx spending because of AI.

Quote: β€œWith such strong demand for our existing offerings and seminal opportunities like AI, chips, robotics, and low earth orbit satellites, we expect to invest about $200 billion in capital expenditures across Amazon in 2026.” - CEO Andy Jassy.

Early Bird’s Nest Egg Gains: Investors framed it as an β€œunprecedented” or β€œcolossal” AI bet where management hasn’t yet proved the payoff timeline.

Final Thoughts: The day before Amazon released its results, Google parent Alphabet $GOOGL ( β–Ό 2.53% ) also raised its CapEx spending because of AI.

Here’s an un-boring way to invest that billionaires have quietly leveraged for decades

If you have enough money that you think about buckets for your capital…

Ever invest in something you know will have low returnsβ€”just for the sake of diversifying?

CDs… Bonds… REITs… :(

Sure, these β€œboring” investments have some merits. But you probably overlooked one historically exclusive asset class:

It’s been famously leveraged by billionaires like Bezos and Gates, but just never been widely accessible until now.

It outpaced the S&P 500 (!) overall WITH low correlation to stocks, 1995 to 2025.*

It’s not private equity or real estate. Surprisingly, it’s postwar and contemporary art.

And since 2019, over 70,000 people have started investing in SHARES of artworks featuring legends like Banksy, Basquiat, and Picasso through a platform called Masterworks.
